I'm Michelle Schee. I started TrussPoint Financial because I learned—through real life, not a textbook—that the time to protect your family is before you ever need to.
Why I Do This
For a long time, money was just something that happened in the background of my life. Then I had kids.
Everything changed the day I realized I needed to know they'd be okay if I weren't here. I didn't want my family stuck worrying about who would take over the mortgage, the car, the everyday bills. I wanted my children to have one simple thing: the comfort of knowing their life—their home, their stability—wouldn't be turned upside down, even if the worst happened.
Then life tested that idea directly. My husband and I went through job changes we saw coming, and some we didn't—including layoffs. One day you have two incomes; the next, your whole household is running on one while the other person looks for work. Your budget shifts. What felt "normal" has to be rethought overnight. We got through it—but only because we'd done some of the groundwork first. That experience is the reason TrussPoint exists.
Here's what I wish someone had told me when I was young: you are not invincible, and "I'll save later" is the most expensive sentence in personal finance. I wish someone had sat me down and drawn out the whole timeline—here's what you need to do now to be comfortable for the rest of your life. No one did. So that's exactly what I do for the families I work with.
I believe no one should care more about your financial future than you do. My job isn't to take that over—it's to hand you a clear plan and the confidence to act on it, so your hard-earned money grows faster than you thought it could and the people you love are protected no matter what.
Ten years from now, I want to be known for one thing: leaving no family behind. Helping families of every background learn the fundamentals, invest smarter, and protect what matters—so they can leave a legacy instead of a burden.
